MODULAR ONLINE PORTAL SOLUTION

Task
A large service company based in northern Germany required a modular online portal, including integration with internal services for data visualization and administration. At the same time, the portal was intended to serve as a communication interface for property management companies, their employees, and users.
The following functions were to be covered:
– Comprehensive user management, from internal users to hierarchical management of end users
– Hierarchical asset overview, from properties down to monthly consumption data
– Detailed, graphical asset analyses across all hierarchical levels
– Ability to search and download extensive archived documents
– Ability to digitally exchange data with, for example, property management companies

Process
For each module, a prototype was created first, allowing data flows and the overall structure to be visualized quickly using an agile approach. The features to be implemented were then broken down into individual sprints, with some development carried out in parallel. This enabled very short release cycles during development.

Approach
Together with the relevant specialist departments, the individual modules were defined in terms of functionality and design. Interfaces for connecting to existing services and the necessary transformations of data structures for multimedia visualization were designed.

Result
In line with the requirements, a modern, modular, and future-proof application was created. Thanks to its wide range of interfaces and integration with internal services, it provides the company’s customers with a maximum level of information transparency.
